part i.
Character name: Hawa
Fandom: Original
Species (vampire, werewolf, what have you): Fey/fairy (he’s a bird 8|b)
Character powers: Prevalent in both of his forms, Hawa has exceptional vision and hearing, as well as the ability to see at night. All of those in his clan have the ability to scent other beings with magic, if not directly identify what they are.
His magic abilities are, at their core, manipulation. That is to say, he can take a current magic and alter it to be something completely different than what it was. For instance, if one were to shoot a fireball at him, he may be able to manipulate the magic so it turns into a harmless gust of hot air. This requires a sufficient amount of magic and concentration, though—he’s by no means a master at this and can make mistakes or else fail to keep himself from being harmed. He’s good at manipulating the magic inside of things such as charms and talismans and has the knowledge of how to ward off bad spirits or creatures. Getting his hands on materials is an entirely different story.
He can also manipulate his magic in such ways to lend extra power to his fists—amplifying the strength of his punches beyond what a normal human would be capable of. This has its limits, of course, and he can’t go an extended period of time fighting like this without rest or else he’ll collapse from overexertion.
part ii.
1.) Is it acceptable for your character to be mind-controlled or persuaded? How susceptible are they to mind control, hypnotism, or suggestion? Sure, just talk about it with me first. |3 He’s slightly susceptible, however he’s had a lot of training as an upholder to use magics about such things.
2.) Is it acceptable for your character to have their mind read? Does this include traumatic memories? What is their mind like (disturbing, orderly, joyful, surprisingly empty, etc.)? If the character has psychic walls or preventative measures against psychic interference, please explain. He has training, once again! But it’s only so strong and his mind can still be read. His thoughts are surprisingly ordered—he primarily thinks about the now. What does he need to do now, what is he going to need to do now, though his brother is always on his mind.
3.) Are thoughts mentioned in narration acceptable for a telepath to pick up? Talk about it with me first! It depends on the thoughts.
4.) What about emotions, in the case of an empath? What sort of general emotional reading would such a character receive from yours? Emotions are fine! Hawa’s going to come off as feeling generally calm, somewhat exasperated and frustrated. And of course, how he’ll feel at the time depends on the situation.
5.) Are there any aspects of your character's mind, emotions, or memories you would like to be picked up, mentioned, or used in character? Conversely, is there anything that should not be noticed, or at least never mentioned? Nnnope, to both.
part iii.
1.) Physically speaking, what stands out about your character? Imposing size? Physical scarring? Tattoos? He’s tall and powerfully built but noticeably, his eyes are bright yellow. He has an owl’s eyes.
2.) Is your character immune to any of the following: poisons, chemical agents, telekinetic influence, radiation, or types of illnesses? Hawa’s resistant to poisons and human-made chemicals and such. 8) He’s pretty healthy and of course there’s the magic thing so that keeps him pretty well protected.
3.) Is your character physiologically different from a human in any way? This can include their blood, skin, hair, et cetera being made up of something unusual or simply differing in construction and durability. Physiologically, he looks like a human and is built like a human in his human form. He’s also an owl so—idk—that differs? His hair is also very soft, like feathers!
4.) Are you amenable to having your character be harmed in any way? How far are you comfortable with injury to you character going? Does this include being fed on by vampires, willingly or unwillingly? Yus, you can go ahead and fight him. Vampires, uh. Well, they could. His blood is pretty well magically infused and if a vampire went after him unwillingly he’d fight them no hesitation. Willingly is debatable.
5.) Is it acceptable for other characters with abilities of shapeshifting or disguise to imitate your character? Does this include ability mimicry? I’d rather not, but discuss it with me anyhow! Never know!
part iv.
1.) Can your character's presence or aura be noticed by other characters, and how would it look/feel to them? How would it manifest to a character with no supernatural abilities, if at all? It might be able to be noticed by other characters with supernatural abilities—he’s probably got an odd sense of feathers around the edge of his body. As well, it manifests itself in a marking that looks like a pair of tiny white wings on the back of one shoulder.
2.) Can your character be affected by magic spells and curses? Yes! He will fight back against magic, though, since he can manipulate it and all.
3.) Can your character be affected by sin and corruption, and be tempted toward expressing their darker urges (of whatever flavor)? Yyyyyes.
4. What sort of sins is the character prone toward, and how might they best be tempted, if you are interested in such an event? HM. He’s prone toward pride, especially. If he’s challenged he isn’t liable to back down, even if there’s danger. S-so basically baiting him.
5.) Are you amenable to the character receiving prophetic visions, including as part of a plot? Sure!
part v.
1. Is threadjacking allowed? Under what circumstances? ANY no um. I like threadjacks for comedy’s purposes. And I don’t mind as long as someone isn’t interrupting a heated or emotionally fraught moment.
2. Is it acceptable for canonmates that are updated further than yours to inform your character of events yours has not yet experienced? N/A
3. Are there triggering or upsetting topics you would like other characters to avoid mentioning to yours for the sake of continued comfort? WELL UM Hawa’s likely not going to get uncomfortable with much and I don’t really have triggers though I get uncomfortable when anyone uses racist terminology. :x
4. Are there any additions you would like us to make to this survey? Nope!
